How Therapy Can Help

About Counselling

Person centred counselling does not offer a directive solution to your problems but it does give you the time and space to develop your self awareness and enables you to talk to a qualified counsellor in a confidential, valued and safe environment. The space that is provided within the therapeutic relationship provides an opportunity for you to explore your world and to reflect on your struggle - however painful and hopeless it may seem.

The fresh insight and knowledge of yourself that this can bring has the potential to extend into your relationships with others and can be hugely enriching.

What Conditions Can it Help?

Counselling can help many conditions such as:

  • Low Self Esteem
  • Anger
  • Bereavement
  • Stress
  • Panic Attacks
  • Depression
  • Bullying

But often these things can't be 'pidgeon holed' as simply as picking a name from a list - there can be, and often are, several things at once bothering you - and that's where talking to a trained counsellor can help.

What Benefits Can be Expected?

A counsellor will offer you a professional relationship in which problems can be identified, worked through and resolved in the privacy of regular reliable sessions. It can help you discover choices when you didn't feel you had any. It gives you the opportunity to work through old conflicts and enables you to move on and look at your life in a new way.
